A number of years ago, I went on a horseback riding trip in the Scottish Highlands. It was there that I met and fell in love with the Gypsy breed. I was so impressed with their sensibility on the trail, their temperament and their beauty. When I returned home, I began my quest to import my first Gypsy horse. With the help of my father, I imported my first mare, All That Jazz.

My love of the breed grew and blossomed and that is how I came to establish Hidden Creek Ranch. It was my intention to breed a few quality horses a year as well as introducing the public to this magical breed. I was successful in my venture. My horses and their offspring have been very triumphant in the show ring bringing home the titles of Reserve Champion, Champion and Supreme Champion of Show. My brood has been successful in halter, judged on conformation and movement, as well as in performance in riding and driving. We've also participated in many exhibitions and parades.

Horses are a luxury item, and with the poor economy there isn't the market that there used to be. I now have nine Gypsy horses to support.
My friend passed along an idea to me, Befriend a Gypsy Horse. Being an elementary school teacher for fourteen years, raising my own horse crazy girls and being involved with the local Pony Club, I thought what a wonderful idea! "Befriend a Gypsy Horse" would be a way to help me support my herd while sharing and promoting this gentle breed.

Many children and adults as well would love to own a horse but may not have the funds to purchase one or the place to keep one. "Befriend a Gypsy Horse" will allow the public to have a horse in their life! There are four levels of participation offering varying items from certificates, photos, letters, surprise packages and ranch visits. What a great gift giving idea!
